今年の初め(2024年1月)急に(？)「着物が着たい！」と思い、着ました。
元々着物が好きで、
お正月は着物、夏祭りは浴衣を着られるので楽しみにしていましたが、
結婚して、出産して、すっかりそれどころではなくて、
着物を着ないのが当たり前の生活をしていました。
しかし、息子たちが少し話を聞いてくれるようになったこのお正月についに
「そうだ！お正月だ！着物を着よう！」となったのです。
着てみるとなんだかワクワク。
具体的な理由やメリットなどは特にないんです。
そうなんです。ただ好きなんです。着物が。
着物が好き。それだけ。
着物が好きなのにこのまま「着る機会がないから、、」と着ないで死んでいく人生は嫌だ。
知らない人に後ろ指指されても着たい日に着物を着る人生がいいな。と思いました。
そこからリモートワークで顔出し会議がない日は小紋に半幅帯から始めて、
なんでもない平日に着物でデスクワークを始めました。
そう。この方法なら誰にも迷惑かけないし、完全なる自己満足なんですけど、
死ぬ間際に「もっと着物を着ればよかった。。。」と言って死ななくて済むんです。(よかった。)
朝、保育園に洋服で送る
→急いで着物着る
→仕事する
→急いで洋服に着替える
→保育園お迎えというスケジュールです。
（毎日ではないです。）
もう着物好きじゃない方からしたら、本当に何しているのやら？？意味不明だと思います。。でも好きな人は共感してくださるはず！！
日常のほんのわずかな時間を使って趣味を練習&堪能しているんです。
しばらく着ていなかったので、普通の帯でお太鼓や銀座結びするにはアイテムも多くて時間もかかってしまうのですが、半幅帯なら一文字でもカルタ結びでもパパッと結べるし、アイテムも不要ですよね。（家で1人で仕事するだけなのでこれでいいのです。）
そして最近は簡単に洗えるデニム着物ばかり着てしまいます。
本当はかわいい柄のトゥルッとした絹の小紋を着たいのですが、
昼休みに自分のお昼作ったり、食洗機回したり、なにかとキッチンに立つので日常に気軽に着るためにはやっぱり理想と現実に折り合いをつけるというか、、お手入れできる、お手入れ簡単というのがすごく大切だなと切に思います。(デニム着物最高！)
ちなみにキッチンに立つときは、着始めて最初の方は紐をしっかりたすき掛けにして作業していましたが、最近はグラス一個洗うくらいのちょっとした作業なら袂を脇に挟んでササっと洗えるくらいには着慣れてきました。
さてさて、この趣味も半年ほど経ちましたが(現在2024年7月)この暑さになるともう浴衣一択ですね。
最近は紺色の有松浴衣を着ています。
来月近所の小学校でお祭りがあるのですが、外に着ていく勇気を出せるか、、
どうでもいい悩みですが本人は悩んでいます。本日はここまで。

I Want to Wear a Kimono!
Hello! I’m Aya.
At the beginning of this year (January 2024), I suddenly had the urge to wear a kimono, and I did.
I’ve always loved kimonos, and I used to look forward to wearing them for New Year’s and yukata for summer festivals. But after getting married and having kids, wearing a kimono became the last thing on my mind, and it just wasn’t part of my life anymore.
However, this New Year’s, when my sons were finally old enough to listen a bit, I decided, “It’s New Year’s! I’m going to wear a kimono!”
Putting it on made me feel so excited.
There’s no particular reason or benefit. I just love it. I love kimonos. That’s all there is to it.
Even though I love kimonos, I didn’t want to go through life never wearing them just because there weren’t any opportunities. Even if strangers give me weird looks, I’d rather live a life where I wear a kimono whenever I want.
So, on days without video meetings during remote work, I started wearing a komon kimono with a hanhaba obi and doing desk work in a kimono on ordinary weekdays. This way, I don’t bother anyone, and it’s pure self-satisfaction. But at least I won’t have any regrets about not wearing kimonos enough when I die.
My schedule looks like this: I drop my kids off at daycare in regular clothes, rush back to change into a kimono, work, then quickly change back to pick them up. (Not every day, though.)
For those who don’t love kimonos, this probably sounds bizarre and meaningless. But those who do love them will understand! I’m using small pockets of time in my daily life to practice and enjoy my hobby.
Since I hadn’t worn one in a while, tying an otaiko or Ginza knot with a regular obi took a lot of time and items. But with a hanhaba obi, I can easily tie it into a simple knot like a one-letter or karuta knot without needing any extras. (Since I’m just working at home alone, this is perfectly fine.)
Lately, I’ve been wearing easy-to-wash denim kimonos. Ideally, I’d love to wear cute patterned silk komon, but since I spend my lunch break cooking or loading the dishwasher, it’s crucial to find a balance between ideal and practical. Easy-to-care-for kimonos are really important for everyday wear.
When I first started, I’d tie my sleeves back securely when in the kitchen, but now I’m used to just tucking them under my arms for quick tasks like washing a glass.
It’s been about six months since I started this hobby (now it’s July 2024), and with this heat, I’ve switched to wearing yukata. Recently, I’ve been wearing a navy Arimatsu yukata. Next month, there’s a festival at a nearby elementary school, and I’m debating whether I have the courage to wear it outside. A trivial concern, but it’s on my mind. That’s all for today.

¡Quiero usar un kimono! ¡Quiero! ¡Quiero!

A principios de este año (enero de 2024), de repente tuve el impulso de usar un kimono, ¡y lo hice!
Siempre me han encantado los kimonos, y solía esperar con ansias usarlos en Año Nuevo y el yukata para los festivales de verano. Pero después de casarme y tener hijos, usar un kimono se volvió lo último en mi lista de prioridades, y simplemente dejó de ser parte de mi vida.
Sin embargo, este Año Nuevo, cuando mis hijos ya estaban lo suficientemente grandes como para escucharme un poco, decidí: “¡Es Año Nuevo! ¡Voy a ponerme un kimono!”
Ponérmelo me hizo sentir tan emocionada.
No hay ninguna razón o beneficio en particular. Simplemente me encanta. Amo los kimonos. Eso es todo.
Aunque amo los kimonos, no quería pasar mi vida sin usarlos solo porque no había oportunidades. Incluso si los extraños me miran raro, prefiero vivir una vida donde use un kimono cuando quiera.
Así que, en los días sin reuniones por videollamada durante el trabajo remoto, comencé a usar un kimono komon con un obi hanhaba y a trabajar en mi escritorio con kimono en días normales. De esta manera, no molesto a nadie, y es pura satisfacción personal. Pero al menos no tendré remordimientos de no haber usado suficientes kimonos cuando muera.
Mi horario es así: dejo a mis hijos en la guardería con ropa normal, corro a casa para cambiarme a un kimono, trabajo, luego me cambio rápidamente para recogerlos. (No todos los días, claro.)
Para aquellos que no aman los kimonos, esto probablemente suene extraño y sin sentido. ¡Pero aquellos que los aman entenderán! Estoy usando pequeños momentos de mi vida diaria para practicar y disfrutar de mi pasatiempo.
Como no los había usado en un tiempo, atar un otaiko o un nudo Ginza con un obi regular me tomaba mucho tiempo y necesitaba muchos elementos. Pero con un obi hanhaba, puedo atarlo fácilmente en un nudo simple como un nudo de una letra o karuta sin necesitar extras. (Como solo estoy trabajando en casa sola, esto está perfectamente bien.)
Últimamente, he estado usando kimonos de mezclilla fáciles de lavar. Idealmente, me encantaría usar kimonos de seda con patrones bonitos, pero como paso mi descanso para el almuerzo cocinando o poniendo el lavavajillas, es crucial encontrar un equilibrio entre lo ideal y lo práctico. Los kimonos fáciles de cuidar son realmente importantes para el uso diario.
Cuando empecé, me ataba las mangas de forma segura cuando estaba en la cocina, pero ahora me he acostumbrado a simplemente meterlas bajo mis brazos para tareas rápidas como lavar un vaso.
Han pasado unos seis meses desde que comencé este pasatiempo (ahora es julio de 2024), y con este calor, he cambiado a usar yukata. Recientemente, he estado usando un yukata Arimatsu azul marino. El próximo mes hay un festival en una escuela primaria cercana, y estoy debatiendo si tengo el valor de usarlo fuera. Una preocupación trivial, pero está en mi mente. Eso es todo por hoy.
